" As I was walking back to my room at the La Quinta, I was stopped by a woman and her daughter. Intrigued by the man sitting in a chair or on his bench, she said excuse me... how does he know so much about hiking? Who is he? I replied it gives me great pleasure to tell you who he is and what he does. I shared what I knew about his professional career, the experiences and adventures he had given his kids, and of course our hiking group. Then I said... who is he? He is an amazing man who has been serving others over and over. How he has impacted and changed the lives of so many. I then got choked up and started to cry when I continued to describe him. How he waits for hours on all of us and plans and orchestrates our hikes, trips etc. This woman got teary eyed. I said drop by and say hi to him next time. She said I can’t wait to meet him I’m going over there now. Sadly he had already retired for the evening. She thanked me for the lovely story and gave me a hug. This man impacts all of us and complete strangers who may be watching, thank you Coach! "

" Thank you to Ron Gunn for creating such an amazing trip. He is the epitome of humble magnificent coach, who is a friend, guide, trail blazer, caregiver, and makes all his trekkers feel like family. He arranges the perfect trip for all skill levels. To me he is the umbrella in the arches, the whisper in the wind, coolness in caverns and as there are no words sufficient enough to describe the breathtaking, exhilaration exuding from the depths of the canyon to the height of the skies there are also no adequate words to describe the soul of our exquisite grand guru we call coach.
