Coach Ron Gunn's hike training program requires membership to participate.  This training program prepares our hikers who are traveling to a destination with us.  Training hikes are bi-weekly from JAN 11 through SEP 6.  By FEB 1 you must be on one of these newsletter lists to stay informed; Scotland,  Up North or Training Partner.

All training and destinations include all hike abilities from moderate to extreme.  Every destination has one extreme hike challenge that takes months of marathon-like training to prepare you.  An extreme hike is not for everyone, but is very rewarding for those that do them.  Most of our hikers will train for modest goals though personally ambitious.  We are not a competitive group - we celebrate everyone's personal best.

Hike with us in 2025 one of two ways: 1) Join the 2025 Up North hiking tour or as a 2025 Training Partner (Local Hikes only).

Bi-weekly trail hikes are progressively longer and at interesting local venues.  Training begins with a half hour lecture before many hikes.  This is a training program to prepare our travelers to get the most from each travel destination!  

The 2025 season is again based on progressive overload to meet the extreme hike goals of the program. 

This year there are two teams training to peak at different times: Scotland for April and Up North for September. Extreme hiking is optional, most take on more modest goals.  The program serves all hiking abilities.
