The registration form collects necessary information for you and your
(submit 1 form for each person paying)
You will begin getting all emails sent by Coach Gunn including those specific to that trip and all training emails
(in the year of your trip).
Example: You register for Grand Canyon 2022. Your 2022 training is included. You must pay the Training Partner fee
to train in 2020 and 2021.
After submitting the form
you may need to scroll up to a gray area with a blue check mark and a
Thank You message.
This confirms your registration was sent. You will begin to receive emails within two weeks - training emails go out biweekly on Wednesday before each scheduled hike.

After you register for a trip you will need to followup with a good faith deposit. For major trips this is $100.
It is both deposit and training fee.
Should you need to drop from the trip
this covers your Training Partner fee.
Checks are preferred or cash (but only if in an envelope with your name, trip and date) handed to Coach Gunn or dropped into the Jog Pot. Checks can also be mailed.
Credit/Debit cards can be used with a processing fee added. Not online (yet), for now you must call our accounting
After registrations have filled all trips
to a destination we start a wait list
to fill vacancies as they arise.
This happens automatically upon receipt of your registration form and that date is your seniority position in line. You retain that date so long as your training/deposit fee is
paid within 2 weeks. If not the
payment date applies.
To remain in good standing you must
keep up payments and training to
be ready. This shows you are serious.
If you don't get on the trip
payments are 100% refunded and you
have benefited from the training program.
ATTENTION ROOKIES: Cairn Stone alumni register for trips a year or more in advance and before the itinerary and price is available. Wait until trip details are available and you will be on a wait list. After trip price is announced you will have two weeks to commit or drop.
Your $100 trip deposits will be used for your Training Partner fee. It is fully refunded ONLY if you didn't participated in the training hikes this year.

Training Partner is the only way to hike with us if not a registered Utah Trekker.
The training program is designed to prepare everyone including for the longest day hikes in Utah.

If you need to drop from a trip your request must be in writing and a full refund may not be possible . Please follow up any verbal request in writing.
Coach Gunn must pay deposits and/or progress payments to airlines,
bus companies, and hotels several months in advance.
Your $100 Training/Deposit is 100% refunded in the first two weeks
after trip details are published but only if you have not hiked
this year, otherwise your deposit is your Training Partner fee.
However all payments are refunded 100% within this 2 week period.
