2025-26 HIKE TRAINING SEASON

Coach Ron Gunn's hike training program requires membership FEB-AUG.  Each year's training program is designed to prepare hikers for that year's destination.  Training hikes are bi-weekly from JAN to SEP.  Register now as a Training Partner (local hikes only) to stay on the newsletter mailing list.  Pay the $100 annual fee by Feb 1.  As a Training Partner, you will be the first informed when a new hiking tour is announced.  After details are available you will make a decision to join the Fall hiking tour or not.  Your Training Partner fee will be used for your trip deposit.  Your final commitment to the trip is when payment is due.

Coach Gunn desires very much to plan another spectacular hiking tour for 2026.  Please hang loose for now while he ponders what is possible and reasonable among his grand list of places yet to hike and explore.  Some would like a return to the Pacific Northwest - The 2010 hiking tour was fantastic!

There's much to see on this website. Coach Gunn has conducted over 27 hiking tours since 2006 including to 9 National Parks and 5 countries.  So, take your time, look around, and learn all there is to know about us. We hope you enjoy our site and keep on hiking.

All training and destinations include all hike abilities from novice to extreme.  Every destination has one extreme hike that takes months of marathon-like training to prepare for.  An extreme hike is not for everyone, but is very rewarding for those that do them.  Most of our hikers will train for modest goals though personally ambitious.  We are not a competitive group - we celebrate everyone's personal best.

Since 2004 Coach Gunn has taken hiking groups to Grand Canyon 12 times, to Pacific Northwest three times, Northern California, Boston-Cape Cod, Utah, Hawaii, Italy, Scotland, Spain

and New Zealand.

Bi-weekly trail hikes are progressively longer and at interesting local venues.  Training begins with a half hour lecture before many hikes

The 2026 travel destination is under consideration.  Coach Gunn's health limits his mobility.  He is considering what is possible and reasonable to do.
